It all started with an egg...
a yellowish dot on the underside of a leaf
the size of a pin head.
Approximately 12 days after the egg hatched
it has increased in size expediently.
The hungry little caterpillar grows daily as it
munches through handpicked leaves of Rue.
Another dozen days and he has shed several timesas he is plumping up for the "Big Event".
This photo was taking approximately 1 month from the time the egg hatched a teeny tiny caterpillar.
Look closely at the two threads that is holding this caterpillar
attached to the twig as he prepares to
enter the final stage of metamorphosis.
A day later the caterpillar created the chrysalis that will house his amazing transformation...
Now we wait;
in 8-12 days we will have a butterfly!
