and there is no wind...
the perfect day for a hike.
now that's something you don't do everyday.
Be sure to look under LLELA Homestead photos for more detailed pictures!
No one wanted to trade their nice, big, air conditioned,
heated home for this log cabin!
Butter churning most often was one of the children's jobs.
Making bird feeders completed the day of discovery and activity on our hike. Once a sugar cone has a pipe cleaner stem inserted through a hole in the bottom, (this is now the top to hang) one spreads a generous amount of peanut butter onto the cone. Now, roll the cone in bird seed. Voila! A nutritious snack for our feathered friends, complete with hanger to adorn the trees.
We lined the pathway to the cabin with birdfeeders.

(there is no need for a pipecleaner)
and you have a great snack for the kiddos!
Like Mom always said, "If you don't eat a pound of dirt,
you'll never amount to anything!"
just the way God wanted it to be!
(Special thanks to my hiking friend for some great pictures!)
Come Butter Come
“Come butter come, come butter come…Butter Bean is at the garden gate waiting for a butter cake, come butter come, come butter come.”
