Today is the Twelfth day of Christmas, Three Kings Day or Epiphany. The last day of excuses for leaving Christmas decorations up...the last day to make wild and crazy icing-smothered, candy-covered creations! For some reason we missed the Gingerbread opportunity this year, but not to worry, we have Three Kings Day; the perfect opportunity to create Three Crowns of Cake. What an epiphany!
We used a small cake for the bottom and a large cupcake for the top. Plenty of icing was used as adhesive for a menagerie of candies that would be added; M & M's, Skittles, Starburst, Twislers, Dum Dum's, Sweet Tarts, Malt Balls, and Tootsie Roll Pops. What a great way to use left over Halloween candy!
All kidding aside, I talked with Butter this eve as we laid in bed about gifts; the gifts we received at Christmas, the gifts the Magi gave to the baby Jesus and the gifts that God has blessed each of us with. Our purpose is to discover our gifts and to do what pleases God. We talked about making it our New Year's resolution; to share our God given gifts and to do what pleases Him.
Now indeed, That is an epiphany!
