The State Fair is Texas is well...
GREAT!!!
Butter and I have gone to the Fair since she was three.
That first year we didn't venture out too much, but we
figured out the lay of the land, and what we like to do...
again and again!
The same large metal gateway greets us each year.
We are close to the Midway entrance and to Discovery Gardens.
At the end of a long day of walking,
the Texas Sky Way can bring us from the middle of the fair
within easy walking of our exit.
Today we are early...the Ferris Wheel hasn't even started yet!
When we do ride, no waiting for us!
Despite overcast skies, we are there on just the right day.
The electric trains run round and round his base.
Time stands still as we watch.
Butter gathers her vegetables, fruits, milk, wool etc at
Little Hands on the Farm.
Just as she has nearly outgrown her farm t-shirt,
this may be our last year at the farm.
Certainly it's the last year for the shirt!
The displays in the Creative Arts Building were interesting and inspiring.
Maybe we'll enter something in the fair next year!
The "World on a String" Puppet show was first rate!
Butter enjoyed the show from the best seat in the house...
right up close on stage!
We always make tracks to the food Pavilion.
Not only can we get our cheap eats of milk and ice cream but,
we always visit Elsie and baby calf, Beauregard.
Watch-out Folks!
This Girl is a Winner!
but all the traditional ceremony was celebrated as the group followed Butter and
the American flag around the arena.
We have a Trophy-winning Barrel-Racing Girl here!
This plate-full of Funnel Cake is a new tasty treat for us.
WOW!
Look at the height of that slide...
Fearless!
